Dying is always a hard thing to fathom. Do we just turn to dust? Does God embrace us? Do we get to come back and do it again and if we do, who or what will we be? We all wonder what our end will be like and what will happen next, but what if we could choose what we become? What if we could cross over to the games we love? This is…

Today’s question to the bloggers of the MMOsphere:

3. If you died and got reincarnated as a game character, who would you be and what game would you live in Why?

Stargrace (MMO Quests)

Slappy the Cool from Vanguard. There’s no explanation good enough as to
why.

Mykiel

Ok this is more than one, sorry but I will disregard your question seeking a game character and give you multiple ones instead

Orchid From Killer Instinct – Not sure what game world it would be, but all I know is that I would have square boobs. That is all that would matter.

Chaos Cultist from Chaos Gate – Shirtless, fat, wearing a skirt and yelling “Come to Chaos!” and then I would go take out mario, and hook up with Bowser.

Vincent Valentine from FF VII – Ummmm…well you see scientifically speaking goth chicks do way more, and I figure what better chance do I have to get Goth chicks than becoming Vincent Valentine.

Edward Cullen – pretty sure that there is a game that he is in somewhere…Middle aged House wives, Cougars, and turkey vultures (older than cougars by 20 years. Still enjoy watching the prey, but too old to hunt). Just sayin would be great.

Grimnir

First instinct is to go with Duke Nukem, guns, chicks, glory. Yeaaah, too obvious. Also he lives in a partially post-apocalyptic world, so fuck that. Maybe the dude from the Fable series ruling over a kingdom, but that’s medieval. I like the modern amenities. I’ll take Frank West, the photographer from the first Dead Rising game. Freelancer photographer and badass zombie killer. That world isn’t totally ruined as they’ve got the zombie problem mostly contained. Getting stuck at ground zero would be annoying, but it gets better when you turn into a creative jackass about mutilating zombies for fun.

Peter (Dragonchasers)

I’d be reincarnated as the Fable 2 dude’s dog. Because a dog with a good master has a great life. I’d spend my days digging up treasure and stuff.

Option Two I’d come back as Cole from Infamous but I’d live in the world of GTA IV because with his powers he’d totally own the city. And all the strip clubs.

Option Three John Marston from Red Dead Redemption, in that game. Why? Because he led an epic life and died an epic death. He loved a good woman and had a fine son. He followed his own path. I admire that!

River (High Latency Life)

Night elf stripper from WoW….why? Cause if your going to whore yourself out, you should’t half step it

Blue Kae

I’d really rather not be any game character, their lives are usually
pretty difficult. If I had to be one, I’d pick an MMO so I’d have
other people to chat with. I would be my STO science captain so I
could take it easy and just go on the occasional away mission when I got bored. Plus he’s blue! Can’t beat that.

Moxie (Wild Boar Inn)

Tyrande from World of Warcraft. It’s time for that priestess to get OUT of the Temple and go kick some tail – starting with Malfurion’s sorry sleepy arse. Take back Ashenvale and make those new night elf mages useful by putting up a Dalaran-like wall at the edge of Ashenvale and The Barrens. Go to Draenei-land, slap Velen out of his pity party, then pay King Chin a visit and ask him who is more suited to leadership… somebody who is 40 years old or beings that are THOUSANDS of years old?

Yes, I’d be a bit of a troublemaker. ;)

Rowan Blaze (I Have Touched The Sky)

I’m assuming this means what game would I like to live in. STO or SWTOR would be cool, but even to this day, I’d say WoW, probably as my Priest, Rowan. Though a Shaman would be cool, too. I know she’s female. Maybe I’d gender flip, and be a male Rowan. As to to why? It’s so vibrant there. Gorgeous. Living on Azeroth would be very risky though. It just goes to show that a world where magic is real would be a very dangerous place, indeed.

Ardua (Echoes of Nonsense)

Oh you’ll have to ask me again after I get my hands on The Secret World. Otherwise right now… probably one of my City of Heroes characters. Right now they have a good story, top of their game/levelling curve and lots of future potential.

Spinks (Spinksville)

Sith Warrior in SWTOR. Yeah, there’s a lot of betrayal, abuse of power, and slavery, but you get a shiny lightsaber and a spaceship and everyone calls you “my lord”.

If it had to be an actual game character, rather than an MMO character, I’d be Sylvanas. Yeah, there’s a lot of betrayal, abuse of power, and slavery, but you get a shiny bow and skeletal mount and everyone calls you “dark lady.”

Werit

I’d like to be reincarnated in Star Wars Galaxies. It was a true world, and since it is advanced in technology they would have real
bathrooms. I’d rather not have to use the woods.

Chris (Levelcapped)

I really don’t know. Many of them would work, but I’d like it to to be
one with a lot of lore. I actually really liked the IP for Chronicles
of Spellborne, despite it’s dismal performance. Maybe DDO. I wouldn’t say no to Duke Nukem, however….

Adam (Epic Slant)

I’m going to cheat here because most of the video game characters I’m familiar with are from 8 and 16 bit Nintendo games. I would be my MMO character Ferrel… just boy-Ferrel… man-Ferrel? Whichever. Ferrel has a lot of good friends who have her back! She is compassionate, can heal like nobody’s business, and rides a giant unicorn. How can you beat that?

Stillwater (Games & Geekery)

Normally, I’d say something like being in an epic RPG, but I’ve been thinking about it, and there really hasn’t been a game where you could explore parallel worlds and multiverses, or play as a writer trying to finish his masterwork. :) That said, maybe I’d like to be reincarnated as a Pokemon trainer. :)

Shadow-War

The first thought that jumps to mind is Gideon Wyeth from Advent Rising. It’s a game I absolutely loved, despite it’s technically terrible aspects. It was a very cool story with some ridiculously fun gameplay. The story was left with a cliff-hanger, and I will always regret the financial failure robbing me of it’s completition. Plus, sci-fi = win. I want to live in a future where humans have the potential to do amazing things and fight aliens that throw asteroids as a weapon.

Of course, there are some othe pretty amazing characters I wouldn’t mind being. Cid from FFVII, because spear and an airship. Link from Zelda as he always gets the girl in the end.

Gazimoff (Mana Obscura)

Almost any character from Shenmue would be awesome, as I’d finally get to spend some time in Japan. Other than that, probably some form of powerful Mage in a Call of Duty setting, if only to piss off all of the multiplayer runts by throwing around fireballs and melting their M-16s.

Look for part 4 of BLOGGERPALOOZA tomorrow!

  1. Spinks answer surprised me, didn’t think she was all that into evil.
